Glycine cleavage T-protein, N-terminal This is a family of glycine cleavage T-proteins, part of the glycine cleavage multienzyme complex (GCV) found in bacteria and the mitochondriaof eukaryotes. GCV catalyses the catabolism of glycine in eukaryotes. The T-protein is an aminomethyl transferase <db_xref db="EC" dbkey="2.1.2.10"/>that catalyses the following reaction:<reaction>(6S)-tetrahydrofolate + S-aminomethyldihydrolipoylprotein = (6R)-5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate + NH3 + dihydrolipoylprotein</reaction>
